"Horrible waiting times"

About: St Mary's Hospital

I am currently waiting for my surgical management of miscarriage. After painful and disturbing experience of miscarriage the delays make your experience horrible. I am currently in pain, fasting from last night and was called at 7am. I was admitted before 8 and since then I’ve been waiting for the consultant to see me. One doctor who took my record had to put the pill in my cervix went to check my blood group and never came back. They have no idea how long the delay will be. The nurses are confused and not very professional. I am am still waiting and it’s been 5 hours. Going through such hard times for physical and emotional pain the hospital services are just adding to my pain and suffering which is exactly the opposite of what they should do.

Thank you for your feedback. We were sorry to learn that your experience was not as positive as we would hope on Ward 62/63 at Saint Mary’s Hospital. It is important to us that comments are heard and seen as an opportunity provided to the service to make changes and improvements wherever possible.

Your feedback has been discussed with the team on Ward 62/63 and whilst I appreciate it is too late to affect the care for you and your family, it is important that the team learns from your experience in order to improve standards for others and I would like to thank you most sincerely for taking the time to bring your concerns to my attention, especially during this most difficult time.

It is challenging to respond to all posts in a full way often because of a lack of detailed information, therefore if you would like to discuss your experience with us in more detail, please do not hesitate to contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 0161 276 8686 or by e-mailing pals@mft.nhs.uk quoting reference number PO19/0073.
