We arrived on time for my son's appointment. He was suffering from a very high temperature, rash and was generally feeling very unwell. We were kept waiting for 25mins. I went to reception to see when he was going to be seen. The receptionist ensured me he was the next patient to be seen. Another patient arrived. We continued to wait to see the GP. The patient that had arrived after us was then called in. I was upset about this and I went to talk to the receptionist again. As I was talking to her her colleague interrupted and basically said we had to wait and the decision was right for the patient to go in before us. After over 30mins of waiting and as a direct result of feeling unsupported by the practice we left. My son's condition worsened and the next day he was admitted to hospital. He was very poorly and he had to stay overnight. He received medical care in hospital and he was allowed home the next evening. I am very disappointed by how we were treated at this practice and I am going g to attend a new one. I will also be making a formal complaint.
