(as the patient),

I was admitted after a fall.

I have been treated very well indeed by both the nurses and doctors. Gemma is really nice.

The ward is very clean and the food is good. Although, for me the portions are too big and there is too much salt in the meat.

My room has been very cold the past few days. Also, there has been a lot of drilling going on all day, so it has been really noisy. Perhaps this room should not have been used whilst the work is being carried out. I would even have preferred to sit in the corridor further down the ward just to get some peace and quiet.

Thank you for telling us about your experience in the Hospital. I'm glad you felt you were treated well and I'll pass your comments on to Gemma.

I'm wondering if you ticked the box on your daily menu for smaller portions. You can do that or even write on the menu cards that you have a small appetite. I'll mention it to the catering staff and also your comment about too much salt in the meat.

I'm really sorry about the dreadful drilling noise from the work on going in the hospital. I can appreciate how difficult it was for you and the nursing staff were telling us about it.

Unfortunately we could not close the ward as we are always tight for beds in the hospital but we should have thought about moving patients out and away from it. On a lighter note I heard the ward moved a number of patients to the discharge lounge so they could see the jubilee celebrations on the big plasma which I though was really good thinking on behalf of the staff. We just need to think like this more often
