Arrived for my operation and was quickly seen by a nurse who took all my details and listened to all my concerns and put me at ease.

Not long after I spoke to the Anaesthetist, who advised how he was going to sedate me and explained what would happen.

 Followed soon after was the surgeon, he discussed how if he performed a different operation it would be more beneficial in the long run. I opted for his suggestion. He spoke in great detail of what to expect.

The surgery went well and all the surgical staff were excellent, as I was apprehensive about the surgery. The were all very attentive and caring. Returned after surgery to recovery unit and then on to Day Surgery Unit, and was looked after very well.

This has been my first surgery and I could not fault any member of your staff at Hairmyres hospital. The care and compassion shown by everyone was excellent.

Thank you to all who made my experience not as daunting as I imagined it would be.

Thank you for your lovely feedback, at the moment in the Day Surgery Unit we are carrying out some efficiency work to ensure the patients' are seen by all relevant staff prior to surgery in a timely manner. I am glad you felt your surgery was explained in detail and you were given time to make a decision about your surgery. I am happy to hear your surgery went well and I hope you are recovering well. It is very important to us that you felt all staff were caring and attentive through each step of your journey and you were looked after very well. I will personally pass on this feedback to all involved and thank you kindly your feedback is very important to the team, lovely to be acknowledged when we are getting things right.
