"appointment with a consultant ore Opp App."

About: Purley War Memorial Hospital / General surgery

I am writing a formal complaint about General Surgery Dep.

Regarding my experience today, about her shabby and very unprofessional treatment at the hands of a very smug and insensitive Doctor who's lack of professionalism and empathy for patients, lacking seems a little to kind, non existent is more accurate.

I have been refered to this hospital and the Dpctor who was very blaze about me being there, " what are you here for" Clearly he had not looked at his case file and also why I was there, when informed he questioned her as to why I think its my Gal Bladder and then proceeded to mock me by saying it might not be that , it might be something else.

I was stunned and in shock along with my sister, it has taken 7 years and a recent MRI to confirm my current diagnosis, I is on major pain killers to help me function as a mother as well as maintain a working life. I suffers sever attacks and major pain from the symptoms of the inflamed Gal Bladder.

He simply didn't not tell me anything apart from it will be a key hole surgery and it might not solve the problem. I asked how long before an operation date is due and he smiled like a Cheshire cat and said "months" I was in and out in 5 minutes and he didn't enquire about the medication that I am currently on , he did not mention any other details of the operating as in where the incision will be, how long to recover after the operation so I can notify work.

I have no idea as to why this individual has behaved in this manner, we simply cannot assume that he was having a bad day when being smug and smirking his way through 5 minutes degrading of me, I sincerely hope that it was not because of my mixed heritage but his behaviour, demeanour and attitude cannot be tolerated or endorsed by the NHS or by any patient he encounters, I will gamble that this chap has more than one complaint under his belt.

I do want this issue to be addressed and this Dr to be re-inducted into working with people and improve his interpersonal skills as well as humanitarian skills since his not a vet, he should be trained to communicate with his patients better in order to help and assist his patients, who are as human as he is and an I want an apology in writing for my very poor treatment today, when I expected to be given a better idea of the up and coming operation.

I would actually want another doctor instead of this chap, clearly as he does not have my interest at heart and I feel that I have suffered enough over the years, I have never complained but enough is enough, its a shame that my mom and father were not able to make the appointment with me today due to work commitments, but they would not have allowed him to get away with his bullish attitude and smug demeaner, they would have held him to account. What a sorry experience.
