"Having my X-ray and bloods taken"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / Paediatrics

(as a service user),

First my mummy and daddy took me to the X-ray department when they took a picture of chest. It was a little scary as I’m only two and there’s a big machine, but the lovely radiographer was kind and smiley. The machine didn’t touch me and it didn’t hurt. My mummy and daddy put on funny coats so that they could stay in the room with me and keep me nice and still.

We then went to get my bloods done. I had some special cream on my arm which meant I didn’t feel anything when they put the needle in. I had to sit on my daddy’s knee and I was held very tightly but the nurses did what they needed to do and it didn’t take long. I got a new cuddly hippo as I was brave.

Thank you very much for telling us of your visit to the hospital and well done for being very brave, I bet mummy and daddy are very proud of you. I'm really pleased you were ok and didn't feel anything when you had your blood test which shows that the magic cream really is magic!! Enjoy your new cuddly hippo he was very well deserved.

Kind regards
