On Easter Friday of this year our son had what can only be described as a terrible accident.
He passed out in our bathroom and managed to split his abdomen, blood pouring out of him.
It took paramedics several hours here at home to stabilise him and he was then rushed to MK Gen who were waiting for him in the Trauma area.
He needed 7 packets of blood and after many hours hard work by the trauma team he was stable enough to operate on him.
MK17 opened a theatre for him at about midnight on the Friday, anaesthetists and theatre staff were called in, it was amazing.
Two hour operation was performed.
He then spent 9 days in the surgical ward.
The ward care was very good, he needed stomach drains, morphine driver, blood transfusions, catheter etc and it was all done with such professionalism.
We spent a lot of time with our son and staff were wonderful.
I should particularly like to thank the surgeon who was I believe a locus who did the op, I have been unable to trace him.
We are all very grateful and so glad we live near MK Hospital
"Superb Trauma service for my 21 year old son"
