Without any doubt, as an ex telecommunication administrator, this is the most annoyingly badly thought out voicemail recorded set of messages. Firstly, we are not told if the system is active (just saying if we are calling within hours we are in a queue, secondly, if we are told we are in a queue WE MUST BE TOLD OUR PLACE IN THAT QUEUE, AFTER LISTENING TO THE MESSAGES FOR OVER AN HOUR, ARE THERE STILL A HUNDRED CALLERS BEFORE US. ALL SUCH MESSAGES NEED TO LET US KNOW WE ARE MOVING TOWARDS THE FRONT OF THE QUEUE, AT LEAST THEN WE WOULD KNOW THE SYSTEM IS WORKING. This, in no way should reflect badly on the overworked staff, within the Eye Clinic, it is purely aimed at the Trust’s communications administration.
