I had my first baby recently at Aberdeen Maternity Hospital. My midwife Mikaela was incredible. We were with her for her whole shift but she missed my baby being born by an hour. She was so friendly, encouraging and made me feel well cared for. The midwife who took over, Hannah was also incredible. She was so encouraging and made me feel at ease in the last hour of my labour and once my baby was born. These woman deserve recognition for their work. I couldn’t have wished for anyone better!!
The Doctors who finally delivered my baby via forceps were also fantastic. They were calm and explained everything to me.
The after care at the hospital was fantastic. They acted within an hour to give me and my daughter anti biotics due to a potential infection. We were in hospital for 5 days and all those we encountered were brilliant. They were thorough with their checks and were on call at any point.
One particular midwife/auxiliary, Heather, spent the night supporting me with breast feeding. She came back continuously to help my baby latch.
Incredible hospital staff and NHS!
"Amazing midwives!"
