What I liked
nothing
What could be improved
communication between departments, knowledge from nurses, to be kept updated
Anything else?
My son stayed in for an op for 1 day, nobody could tell us re follow-up for dressings, had to do 4 x 22 miles round trips back to leighton for re dressing as home care team had not been told we neded them over the 4 day bank holiday, back at out of hours for antibioctics for infection on the 4th day, nurses on ward 17 did not know wether to leave wound open or re dress,or if stitches were dissolveable or needed to be removed as no info from surgeon, waited in all day on the wednesday for the home care team to call as we were told by 3 different nurses on 3 seperate days on the ward that they would be out, called them at 4.20 pm on the wednesday and they had had no referral (at this moment it did not surprise me)very very dissappinted by the aftercare and lack of communication, would not go back to leighton if another hospital was available
"A complete shambles from start to finish"
