consultations with patients held on open wards - no privacy or confidentialty

communication between midwives, doctors, community and and hospital teams is atrocious.

the community midwives are patronising and rude.

the hospital midwives are over worked and too busy to offer nursing care when needed. nursing care is frequently left to health care assistants to carry out.

Risks and benefits of procedures not explained prior to procedures, only afterwards.

Drs ignore patients requests and opinions when deciding treatment plans

Drs bully patients into treatment plans by withholding pain relief, walking away from discussions, pressuring patients and their carers.

Patients not treated as mentally competent.

Anything else?

i would never recommend this maternity service to anybody. I would never uses this maternity service again. I would strongly recommend to others that, if they are able, to seriously consider using another hospital and midwife service. The approach to patient care in this hospital left me extremely anxious, poorly and physically impaired.
