"Treatment for Fractured leg"

About: Dr Gray's Hospital / Orthopaedics (Bones, Joints and Fractures)

(as the patient),

Nurses and auxiliaries are tremendous. Theatre staff were also excellent

There was a miscommunication between the anaesthetist and the surgeon – one told me to have breakfast, the other told me not to. I ended up having breakfast and then I got called for surgery – it had to be postponed until the afternoon.

I felt that the doctor had a bad bedside manner, no eye contact and I didn’t feel treated with respect.

I slept well, no noise to interrupt me. I knew that the nurse in charge of the ward was called Millie.

Thank you for your very positive comments about your care. It really encourages the staff when they hear patients are satisfied with the care they receive.

I'm sorry about the miscomunication between the anaesthetist and the surgeon causing a postponement to your surgery. I'm also going to speak to the clinical lead in the department about the doctor(s) speaking over your head. I'm going to address that at their next service group meeting and remind them that they should treat all patients with respect.

Thank you for your story. If I'm not told about issues that concern patients I cannot make changes
