"Lack of care second time round"

About: Vale of Leven General Hospital / General Medicine (Lomond Ward)

(as the patient),

I am just back from an emergency visit in the early hours of the morning with severe upper abdominal pain. The doctor I saw said I had blood and protein in my sample, could hardly walk with the pain. The doctor asked me what did I want him to do about it, then told me to go home take some more painkillers. He also went on about my fibromyalgia and why I couldn't work, totally irrelevant.

Now also the previous visit the year before upper right abdominal pain, the out of hours doctor said I had IBS and I was sent home again, I was crying in pain. Turned out I had Gallstones leaked and tore open my cystic duct and needed surgery. I will never use that out of hours again.

Dear M442019

I was sorry to hear of the experience that you had whilst attending the Vale of Leven GP Out of Hours service recently. I hope that you are in improving health. It would be good if you would contact me directly so that I can understand more about your visit. My email address is Carol-ann.jamieson@ggc.scot.nhs.uk

Many thanks

Carol-Ann Jamieson
