"Profound disappointed"

I have to say that this time around I’ve left the hospital disappointed of the attitude the assistants from the Triage unit had. I’ve been there before twice and both times I’ve been looked after and assured everything is fine with my baby. As it’s my first pregnancy,I sometimes get scared when maybe I shouldn’t and I go there to be checked just to have piece of mind that everything is fine. Today though, I visited the Triage Unit because I’ve been told by a maternity personnel that if I notice anything unusual or there is anything that doesn’t look right to me to go and be seen. I’ve been also told that hiccups after 32 weeks shouldn’t be often and for the last days I had them at least twice per day. I know that hiccups are normal, but if this happens more than usual I should be seen by someone.So today I went there and when I told to the assistant the reason why I came they laughed.First of all, no one answered the phone when I called and I called multiple times so I can check with someone over the phone there if I should come in or no and then I just went, as other nice midwifes told me to do so, but the way I’ve been laughed at made me feel very bad . She even said don’t tell me you came here only for this and she start laughing with another assistant that came inside the room, like it was something funny to laugh about.

I wouldn’t go there if I wouldn’t be worried or if I wouldn’t have been advised to do so, and since it is my first baby and everything is new for me I wouldn’t forgive myself if something would happen and I would knew that I could have done something and I haven’t. I wasn’t there for anyone to laugh at my concerns or to make me feel stupid. These type of people shouldn’t work in a hospital because there is no moral or legal right to laugh at someone only because they need re-assurance. I wasn’t there because I was feeling great. I was there to make sure my baby is fine. I would like for someone to take actions against this type of behaviour so no one should ever feel again as I felt today.
