I attended Ward 10 Woodend Hospital to have a Ankle Ligament Reconsturction. My surgeon was Mr Forrest, he and his team ensured that i was fully aware of all details of the operation and they kept me informed and at ease throughout the morning before the Operation.
The Nursing staff at Ward 10 were fantastic and the Ward Manager Fiona went above in beyond in her duties ensuring that my stay in ward 10 went without a Glitch. FIona was present all day and although the ward was extremely busy she ensured her staff were on top of every matter.
I went down to theatre and was at complete ease given the reassurance i had received from all staff, my operation was a complete success and i was kept in overnight. Apart from the normal Operation pains the whole Care team ensured that i was pain free and that everything had gone to plan.
Fiona and her team are a true credit to the NHS and to the caring profession. Working in such a high pressured environment and dealing with a number of testing issues each day must take it's toll on them all, but from my view as a patient it restores my faith in the NHS. The saying that success is no accident is clear to see here as it takes the hard work and didication shown by all staff within Ward 10.
When i was discharged the following day i was left feeling reassured and all the appropriate contact details in case anything changed or issues arrised in the following weeks.
The aftercare that i have received from Mr Forrest and his team has been above and beyond, they ensured that all was going to plan and guarenteed that my operation has been a complete success.
A massive thank you to all involved.
Best regards
