About: Manor Hospital

What could be improved

I specifically asked to be seen by a femail consultant as my condition was of a personal nature, but when I arrived for my appointment I was seen by a male, so I lied about my condition as I did not want to be examined by a male doctor. The hospital should take note of patients preferences in this sort of situation so that the precious time of nhs doctors is not wasted. I shall now have to go back to my own GP to try to sort my problem out (again a waste of nhs doctors time).

Thank you for posting your comment. I’m disappointed that you felt unable to request for a female consultant during your visit. We would always respect a patient’s wishes to be seen by a female consultant and if there is not one available at the time, a chaperone can always be arranged to be with you during your consultation. For your next appointment, please contact our Patient Relations Team on 01922 656463 before attending and they will be able to arrange this for you.

Kind regards

Kathryn Halford

Associate Director of Nursing
