"Being on Blackdown ward, Tiverton Hospital"

About: Tiverton and District Hospital / Inpatient beds

(as the patient),

I broke my leg and went to Exeter. But then I was moved to Tiverton, and it’s much nicer, smaller and more friendly. I have bad arthritis in my knee and have ended up being in hospital for 5 months. I am currently on Blackdown ward, and it’s lovely. The staff are nice, and the ward is clean. The only thing I would suggest is that it seems a shame that the fire exist has frosted glass, rather than clear. I suppose that’s not an easy thing to change, but it would brighten up my bit of the ward.

I was on Twyford ward, and I found the toilet there to be far too small. I am not small, and it was very difficult to go to the toilet – there was just no room to move. In fact, I had to use the commode, with the help of the staff. I much prefer being on Blackdown ward.
