I don't like to write negative reviews however, after what I have experienced I feel like I need to share. I am quite unhappy with this GP and the last time I went, I was not treated well in my appointment or by reception staff despite always being polite to them. I will start with getting an appointment: When you need an appointment in the morning the line is busy and without an option to hold a place in the queue (instead you have to ring and ring and ring hearing the busy signal each time until you get lucky). Several times, when I did get through, I had to be referred to walk in clinics because they couldn't even fit me in that week! I guess it is the luck of who calls back when the busy signal drops. The last time I attended it was due to a rare condition I had, the GP I saw had no experience with it and I was asking to see a specialist for some specific issues around the condition. He was patronizing and refused to refer me on even though he could not answer any of my questions, and to add to the anxiety that I was not going to get specialist help, he then called my condition by the wrong name showing he didn't understand what I had but refused to admit it. I left feeling scared and neglected by the medical system, I have since changed practices. I understand that the NHS does the best it can and I really appreciate all of the staff and their hard work, it is just when things like this happen you feel so powerless. I am hoping that the way I was treated was the exception however I hope that they are not so against referring patients to specialists when they are not familiar with certain conditions.
