"Amazing staff and amazing care"

About: Queen Alexandra Hospital / Mary Rose Maternity Centre

We had the heart wrenching experience of losing our beloved baby boy at just 21 weeks old. But every single member of the team on B8 (nightingale ward) that we met showed nothing but compassion and care towards me, my fiancé and our darling angel boy Alex. Also, the team of paramedics and ambulance crew who came to us to start our care were amazing. We felt so honoured to meet all these wonderful individuals, we just wished it was in happier circumstances. Please continue doing what you do and providing the amazing level of care you showed me and my family. We were never rushed to make any choices, we were never rushed to leave. We honestly felt so comfortable and calm. Thank you all so much for what you did for us. There are simply not enough words or way for us to show our eternal gratitude to you all and this difficult time.

On behalf of everyone at the Trust, may I offer our deepest sympathy on the loss of your young son Alex. There is no doubt that this will be an unbearably painful time for you and your family and I would like to thank you so much for taking the time to share your appreciation for the staff who took care of you.

Your kind thoughts will be shared with the staff involved who will be pleased to hear that you felt so comfortable and calm.

Although I know you will never fully get over such a painful loss, I can only hope that in time your pain will ease. Always remember that it was our pleasure to be there for you and help you find the strength you needed. I hope that we can be there for you in happier times in the future.

Kindest regards

Marion
