"Amazing!!"

About: Princess Royal University Hospital / Maternity

Amazing staff, responsive, respectful I do not have enough words for the care shown to me during both my labour and the time spent with our baby on the SCBU. On May 1st I went into established labour with my first child. After a very traumatic and difficult pregnancy I was very anxious about the birth of our baby, I had felt vulnerable for the entirety of my pregnancy. From the moment I entered the assessment unit I felt as though I was listened to, and most importantly for the first time in my pregnancy I felt safe, and secure. Shortly after an assessment our baby decided she was well on her way and was going to make things difficult so we where admitted immediately to the maternity ward... whereby the care and compassion we where shown was second to none... all of the staff from the midwifes, doctors and everyone in between where kind friendly professional and absolutely on the ball. Nothing was too much trouble, and despite my labour not being what I had planned I couldn’t have wanted for a better team of people looking after me. Unfortunately our baby was poorly shortly after being born and was rushed to the SCBU, within 15 mins of us raising a concern to the midwifes on the post natal ward our baby had been rushed around to the unit and was being immediately assessed by the consultant... and treatment had started. Absolutely amazing!! I have no doubt that our daughter was in the best hands possible... and the nurses on the SCBU where not only fantastic with their implementation of our daughters treatment but where unreal in the their calm and professional approach .. given that I was an absolute wreck they not only made time for my daughter but also to reassure and talk myself and my husband through every stage of our daughters treatment. I can not Thankyou all enough.. you are all amazing what a wonderful wonderful team of people... working for the nhs myself I am more than aware of the pressures faced on a daily basis but despite this the care I received was exemplary and thanks to everyone who was involved in our care we now have a healthy thriving beautiful little blue eyed girl who is our whole world and more... THANKYOU THANKYOU THANKYOU and a million times more!!

Thank you so much for taking the time to write to us about the birth of your baby at the Princess Royal University Hospital. It must have been such a worrying time for you but so good to hear that you were treated well by staff and that they were responsive to your needs and to your care. I hope you and baby are now doing well and wishing you all the best for the future.
