"The birth of my son"

About: Aberdeen Maternity Hospital / Obstetrics (Maternity care)

(as the patient),

I would like to send a huge thank you to all the staff I met over my stay at Aberdeen maternity hospital. I can't praise them enough. I gave birth to my son on the in May. I was taken in on the day before to start the induction process. Feeling very anxious and apprehensive about what was to come, I was instantly reassured and informed of the procedure. A space became available for me on the labour ward early the next morning. I would especially like to send my gratitude to the staff who took care of myself and my husband during the Labour and delivery. After a long day I ended up being taken to have a c section. We were kept informed of what was happening at all times and not once did I feel in anything other than safe hands. The theatre staff were all amazing as well as the midwives, especially the two midwives who took care of us during the labour. Myself and my son stayed in hospital until the Friday that week. Following my son's delivery I was in Ashgrove ward. All of the midwives and staff there were very friendly and couldn't of done more to help especially when I couldn't be as able bodied to care for my son after the c section. Towards the end of my pregnancy I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes. The care I received from then on has been amazing. Myself and my husband are extremely grateful for the care we and our son received.

Dear KBM,

Congratulations on the birth of your son and thank you for taking the time to provide such positive feedback in what must be an extremely busy time for you.

It is great to know that you felt well cared for and informed throughout your stay with us, from your induction right through to the care you received in Ashgrove ward.

Our staff try really hard to provide a service that meets the needs of our mum's dad's and babies, sometimes in very difficult circumstances and it is such a boost for them when they receive feedback such as this.

May I wish you and your family all the best for the future, and thanks again for taking the time to get in touch.

Warmest Regards

Liz
