"Chest pains"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Accident & emergency

(as the patient),

I had been having chest pains and since I was diagnosed with diabetes recently but there had been problems in regulating my blood pressure I wanted to get things checked out. I went to the A&E department at Forth Valley Royal. I was seen right away because I was complaining of chest pain

Every staff member I met was very pleasant. They did everything I wanted and expected them to do in terms of tests. I feel I was listened to, and that I got answers to my questions and now my mind is at rest.

It was real star treatment from the student nurse who pricked my finger to get blood to the two young men who wheeled me to Xray. Everything at Xray was very good too, no problems.

The nurses were very good and I had a good chat with them about different things.

One thing I would say is that the hospital gowns could be better - it seems to be one size fits all! I found mine uncomfortable and tight across my chest making me wonder if my chest pains were getting worse.

My daughter was pleased that there was plenty parking outside A&E too and that it wasn't only for 4 hours.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience about your ecent visit to the Emergency Department, I will share your comments with the staff. I aim to use the information we get from patients to look at ways to improve our service.

It is nice to be appreciated and certainly makes the job more rewarding.
