"Immensely rude and ill mannered"

About: Lady Margaret Road Medical Centre

I don’t know where to begin with my repetitive (negative) experience I always get with this GP surgery. At 7:59am I waited for 8:00am to come to call the receptionist straight away to book an appointment, after many engaged calls I finally got through, to only be told they were fully booked. At 2 pm I called once again to get an afternoon appointment, they gave me a very limited selection and as a mother I had to work around my kids schedule which made it very hard, this practice doesn’t care about your personal situation or condition and gives what fits them. Upon arrival I was shocked to see an empty waiting room as I was told it was fully booked, I was annoyed about this because I had to rearrange my family’s schedule, on top of this the receptionist and the gp I was booked with were having a conversation in the waiting area which entailed the gp complaining about patients also she was gossiping(during work hours). At the same time the reception phone was ringing yet the receptionist didn’t even pick it up, as she was busy gossiping with the gp. Finally when the gp returned to her room and I was called in, I entered and told her why I here today. My hospital consultant gave me a red card to show my gp so she gives me a repeat prescription for my urgent medicine. She refused to do it even though the consultant told me she must after showing the card. I asked a question about a certain medicine she was prescribing me as I was wanted to know the side effects before I bought it asI tend to be quite prone to many side effects. After asking about it she started verbally abusing me and was very abrasive. I felt like I was being ambushed by her sudden hatefulness and shouting. She was shouting at me so loudly that others heard and it was very humiliating and degrading. This was not at all professional according to the NHS guideline. From the guidelines she also did not follow point 4 which is keeping the patients at the heart of NHS. I’m am entitled as a human being to ask a question about something that could be potentially harmful, I am worried for my body which I’m allowed to do. According to the official NHS values, she did not work together with me being the patient, she didn’t value my respect and dignity and had no compassion. After my appointment I was more stressed then when I went in, and my anxiety was through the roof. Definitely wouldn’t recommend the gp surgery to anyone, from beginning to end my experience has been horrible, but this time has been exceptionally bad. I have been going to this practice for 40 years now and it’s definitely changed over time.
