"Not a kind green recycling triangle in sight"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus

(as a service user),

I felt shocked. After purchasing refreshments from one of the restaurants at the Queen's medical centre Nottingham, the only used carton disposal method was landfill municipal waste bins! Not a kind green recycling triangle in sight. I was horrified. Forced to cause our beautiful planet harm, this is what is wrong with the world.

Thank you for your valued feedback. We are currently in the process of reviewing our recycling facilities within our outlets. We have introduced the Walkers crisp and plastic bottle recycling scheme at QMC and are in the process of introducing this at our other outlets. We are also reviewing the introduction of other recycling bins within both restaurants at QMC and City Hospital.

We try our best to accommodate all requests and requirements. Our development chef regularly reviews the menus and has noted that vegan options are becoming increasingly popular. As a consequence, we will be ensuring that we offer a weekly vegan dish on our new menu cycle. We already offer a vegan sandwich and we can also accommodate specific requests made to our department if this is helpful.

Thank you for your valued feedback as it is only through this can we improve the service we provide.

Kind regards

Chris Neale

Assistant Head of Facilities
