"Lack of care & sympathy"

About: Newark Hospital

I was seen at the pain clinic today. I arrived half an hour early so I was pleased to be seen by the doctor early as well. He introduced himself and launched into dialogue. I felt completely rushed , he spoke fast and gave no indication as to whether he was actually listening to me. Despite the fact he saw me earlier than anticipated I expected to be given the chance to talk about my levels of pain and alternative options. Nothing. Rush rush rush and get out. No niceties and no sympathetic ear. I felt completely deflated. This doctor needs to have a little more self awareness about how he presents himself to others and certainly a better bedside manner!
