In my opinion my gp lacks interest, recently my mum went for a scan and they told my mum it was for one thing and then wrote to the hospital stating another thing.
When my son was a baby he had medication to help with reflux when asked if it was working I said 'no' to which they replied 'I am glad it's working'.
It seems to me the main GPs are always on holiday and they always have a locum doing their job which I have not found to be very good. I was meant to get a referral for a condition I believe affects my health significantly and after not hearing anything for months it turns out the locum had not put it through after all.
They also close on Wednesday afternoons and most staff work part time anyway. I have found some of the receptionists rude and snappy, some talk whilst the phone is ringing and ignore the calls. I have witnessed this on numerous occasions.
When I was pregnant my midwife told them to call me as I needed iron tablets and they never did leaving me exhausted and anaemic for over a month.
Sometimes the fire exits are locked and our prescriptions are rarely on time!
Something needs doing about this in my opinion.
