"Helped me become a happier person"

About: Community mental health services / Recovery College

(as a service user),

I attended the "Reclaiming Your Life - A Future Without Abuse" course.   I felt very welcomed in the group. The trainers were very supportive and caring. I learnt that nothing was my fault and not to blame myself for traumatic events that happened to me in the past. I learnt that it is important to take care of myself and that its helpful for my recovery. I also met other women in similar situation as myself. We listened to each others stories and supported each other, whilst maintaining a good sense of humour. It has been an emotional experience.   I can not show how much I have appriciated the help and support I received from the trainers and the student's. I would recommend this course to other women who have suffered from domestic abuse. The course has helped me become a happier person and to move in my life.
