"Carers Event welcome"

About: Rampton Hospital

(as a staff member posting for a carer/relative),

'Always made to feel welcome and excellent food. The “shop” has been discussed at length many times – let’s hope some improvements will be the outcome of today’s discussion. Visiting for 2 hrs can sometimes be too long. Maybe the option of choosing the length of visit could help especially with advice from your relatives’ care team. In the past evening visits have been discussed. Again may an evening visit would be a better time for the patient as later in the day and more settled. Again discussed with care team.'

feedback received from Wellbeing Carers Event 8th June 2019 at Rampton Hospital, as part of National Carers Week.

Thank you for this feedback. I think the discussion about visits reminded everyone how demanding they can be and what a significant contribution carers make to the recovery of their loved ones.

Best wishes

Peter

Thanks for your post. I am pleased that you enjoyed the food provided - it does always get positive reviews.. You are right, the patients shop has been discussed on many times over a long period of time. We have a meeting once a month where Managers in the hospital meet to look at extra provisions and this includes shop / facilities staff. It is hoped one of the outcomes will be an improved overall shopping experience for patients as we acknowledge how important shopping is to them.
