"A bit of a stressful time getting there"

About: Glasgow Royal Infirmary / General Medicine (Wards 3, 4, 5 &46) Glasgow Royal Infirmary / Outpatients

(as a service user),

I had an appointment for a Synacthen test which was arranged over the phone. I was told to go the ambulatory clinic, I had no idea what it was and neither did reception. Anyway by the time I got to the acute assessment unit reception i was stressed and not a happy bunny.

I had a bit of a moan while acknowledging it wasn't the receptionists fault and they were fantastic. Took me to where I needed to be and spoke to the nurse there, telling her I'd had a bit of a stressful time getting there and could she make me a cup of tea before they start the test. The nurse Charlene was also amazing, very considerate, explained everything and made me my tea too. I had to be there for two hours and there was another male and female nurse but I didn't get their names unfortunately but the whole team where lovely and put me at ease and really looked after me.  A big thanks to all involved.

Dear Kirky2018

Thanks for getting in touch.

I am sorry for the difficulty you had in finding the Unit and for the additional stress this caused. However, I am pleased to read about the fantastic receptionist, and the care provided by Charlene and the other staff members in the Unit. (I hope you enjoyed your cup of tea). The staff will be delighted with your feedback.

Take Care

Nicole

I forgot to say the receptionist was called Mags. I would like her to know the difference she made to my day.
