"Discharged from the only support I had been given"

About: Talk Wandsworth

(as a service user),

First I was put on a list for a service that did not exist, then i was referred to an online service that required special equipment (a computer capable of video calls) without being asked whether I had the right things first. Then I was discharged from the only support I had been given because I was unable to connect on mobile.

I was let down completely and I feel awful.

It has now been over 5 months since I was referred by my GP and I'm no closer to any help.

People with special needs are important too

My name is Helen McVeigh and I am the Service Manager for Talk Wandsworth. Firstly would like to apologise for your experience of the service and the feelings that you are left with after contact with Talk Wandsworth this is definitely not our intention.

Thank you for your time in giving us the feedback and the points you raised are important to us. We do not want to offer therapies to people who cannot access them due to not having the correct equipment and we work hard to make the service as accessible as possible to cater for varying needs. I will look in to this area and want to see assurance that at the point digital therapies is offered that further information is given around what equipment is needed to enable that access. Without looking at your individual case I would not be able to determine what has happened to you whilst on a waiting list, I would be happy to look in to your personal experience here.

From your feedback if a service development need is identified it will lead to a service improvement. I can respond in more detail about the digital offer at Talk Wandsworth once I have looked in to the detail of this.
