"I am so fortunate"

I am so fortunate to live close to such an excellent hospital.

Last September I was diagnosed with a melanoma on my foot.

My initial referral was swift and all subsequent appointments were made promptly.

I was given lots of information, advice and support from all the team involved.

I understand that I am unable to name individuals but the dermatologist and Macmillan nurse were both caring and helpful and I am delighted with the skin graft performed by the plastic surgeon.

The theatre team when the excision and graft were performed were all very efficient, yet did not make me feel like I was on a production line.

Since then, I have had periodic monitoring but am delighted that all is well.

I am so grateful to all concerned for the superb quality of treatment I received
