"Recovery journey"

About: One Recovery Bucks / Aylesbury

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

When I started coming to O.R.B my doctor had referred me for my cannabis habit. At the start I couldn't fore-see a time when I would want to give up or even cut down.

Coming to O.R.B has made me put my drug problem into perspective by talking about it and seeing how it holds me back and doesn't really help with my problems. In the last few months I've halved my drug use and since then halved it again. I am now working towards being completely free of cannabis in the next 2-3 months.

Thanks so much for your valuable feedback. It is great as service manager to hear how much progress you have made accessing our service. Completing a decisional balance of the -/+ of your cannabis use seems to have impacted your motivation greatly, for you to have seen some of the consequences which have helped you to cut down so much already.

I am so glad to hear your cannabis reduction has been at your pace, we strongly believe that everyone's recovery journey is different and we need to respect this, so we can ensure we best meet your needs. Keep working on your reduction and strengthening your life and the activities you do away from your cannabis use. The benefits of stopping should start to out weight the using, and this should keep enhancing your motivation. Remember YOU CAN DO THIS!

Wishing you all the very best.

Tracy
