"Don't answer the phones"

About: Wycombe Hospital / Gynaecology

Due to an illness I was unable to attend my appointment and tried to ring to reschedule as "every missed appointment costs the NHS £160". After ringing 7 times and spending a collective time of 45mins on the phone I was unable to get through and had to leave it so I just did not show for my appointment, wasting their time and a potential slot for someone else.

Dear Sir/Madam

Thank you for taking the time to leave your comments on this website.

I am sorry to read of the problems you have experienced in trying to cancel your appointment with the Gynaecology department. We appreciate the effort that you made to try to let us know that you were unable to make your appointment.

If you ever find yourself in a similar situation I would be very grateful if you could contact the Patient Advice & Liaison Service (PALS) on 01296 316042 who would be happy to let the service know you are unable to attend and they will ensure the message is passed on to the right person.

I am sorry that you were not able to get through to us as we would have liked, but the fact you did your best has been noted.

Kind regards

Anthony Banton
