My daughter was admitted to the surgical ward for a routine procedure, but none the less we as a family were still quite nervous. When we arrived we greeted by nursing assistant Karen she was lovely through out, her calming nature and her infectious smile really helped my daughter and my self feel at ease, she does not know how much she helped me keep my cool, which no doubt reflected onto my daughter. So a massive thank you to Karen. Rosie the nurse came and done her paper work, again she was very pleasant and tried to put us at ease, despite having a obvious busy work load she never once let it show, when she was with us she never rushed her time with us. Wendy the activities person came round and took us to the play room which was a great distraction for us. The anaesthetist came round to go over everything with us and answered any questions we had and put our mind at ease, regardless how silly the question was, he had a laugh and joke with my daughter which in turn settled her nerves slightly.
We ended having to stay over night the staff again couldn’t do any more for us, they are worth their weight in gold.
