Our Child (8 years old) was admitted to ward 7 on the child day ward this week at High Wycombe Hospital for an operation and we have first rate care from all the staff and surgeon.
The staff were welcoming on arrival and the consultant made sure we knew the benefits and risks of the procedure. We did not have a long wait for the procedure and all the staff made our child feel at ease with everything.
The facilities were really good, there is a large play room with toys and a play specialist on hand to keep the children entertained, which certainly helped with our child. In addition the play specialist took time to go through what to expect from the operation/pre-op assessments in child language which was very helpful.
There were not that many patients on the ward during our visit, which helped with the care and attention for our child. We were very happy with the experience and the level of care that was provided.
