My mother in laws hospital journey started in January of this year. She spent some time in the ECU before transferring to ward 4 and boarding to ward 13 prior to starting her rehabilitation in ward 12 at UHW.
She was able to return home from there. I am sure the staff in ward 12 didn’t miss charging her iPad, picking up her tic tacs from the floor or coping with all her demands. Unfortunately her health deteriorated rapidly and she came back to the Emergency Care Unit . She passed away peacefully in ward 12 that same week surrounded by the staff who knew her best. This would not have been possible without the help of Dr Burnett, Janice Miles or Karen Wilson.
There are too many people to mention individually from ward 12 but I also think it is important to stress how staff like Karen, Joanna, Tamara and Amanda made her journey a little easier. Not only did they look after my mother in law but also my family.
