I was referred by my GP to the one stop breast care clinic at Glenfield 2 weeks ago and received an appointment last Sunday morning to attend. The consultant hardly felt my breasts and said it all looks normal. I said I had skin thickening under my left arm and new lumps around my left breast to which she said that’s normal and let’s do a mammogram. After the mammogram (all done efficiently I must say), I was asked to get dressed and the consultant would come in and give me my results. As I was getting dressed she bobbed her around the door and said go home, it’s all fine. Obviously that is a great result, however, I am not sure she looked at my results at all as I was so rushed - I want another opinion and assurance all is clear. All staff have been polite when I called today but say the same thing, I’ve been given the all clear according to the notes. I just need reassurance that the mammogram was looked at and that the consultant read them correctly. Is that really too much to ask?!
