"Having my bloods done by the girls"

About: Community Health Services / Phlebotomy

(as the patient),

I am a patient that takes Warfarin tablets so I have to get my blood levels done quite regular.

The clinic I go to is warm, friendly, very clean, the staff are very helpful they put you at ease right away. Even though I get regular blood tests I am still very nervous - that is where the staff come in, the girls are very helpful, put you at ease and they get to know you. We sometimes laugh at little things or about life itself. Yes I'm very content with the service of the clinic.

The downside to it is the waiting and having to travel to get my bloods done. Why can't I have them done in my own surgery? I don't know. We had a blood nurse, but then she was moved.

Dear Navel604

Thank you so much for posting such positive comments about the Phlebotomy service. In addressing your comments about the waiting times and having to travel rather than attending your GP surgery, you will appreciate it is difficult to respond to indvidual questions when we do not have all the necessary information to hand. If you wish to discuss the matter further, then you are most welcome to telephone the Patient Advice and Liaison Service on 0151 244 3454 who will be very pleased to help.

With best wishes
