About: Royal Bournemouth General Hospital / Cardiology

I was a patient in ICU/HDU/CCU for 6 weeks following a heart infection. I was treated with the utmost respect by every member of staff, I would go as far to say I considered all the nurses to be my friends during my stay. They spoke to me on a human being level rather than a patient. After being transferred to Southampton for another 5 weeks following this stay, I can safely say they go above and beyond and I treasure my experience (despite the health) and am forever grateful to the incredible staff on CCU.

Dear Sian

Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience of our hospital and the stay you had following a heart infection.

It is always pleasing to hear when patients have been touched by the care and compassion given by our staff, even more so when that connection begins to feel more like a friendship.

We hope after such a long stay in hospital you are now on the road to recovery and feeling much better.

Your kind comments will be sent to the Cardiology Matron and nurse leads for the areas you mentioned and I know they will take delight in sharing the feedback with their staff.

Regards

Patient Experience Team
