Firstly, I am sorry you had a wasted journey but I can confirm that, no, we are not an urgent care unit.

I have checked both our website and our NHS Choices page and both correctly state that among the services we provide is a minor injuries service.

This treats qualifying minor injuries which have occurred within the past 48 hours.

(NB We do not have X-ray facilities in-house).

We are not an urgent care unit nor are we a walk in centre and I apologise if this misinformation (from whatever source) caused you inconvenience.

I thank you for the opportunity to provide wider clarity on this issue.
