"Alternative therapy from the pain management service in Hull"

I have been attending the Pain Clinic for some time now. Having had problems taking some of the medication given I was very pleased to be able to try some of the alternative treatments provided through this service.

I cannot belive the difference that the accupuncture sessions I have attended have made to my life. I am able to sleep a lot better and feel I am getting a reduction in the pain I am experiencing. I feel that the treatment is keeping the soreness and inflamation around my joints to a managable level. I am also having massage treatments through the service which is also helping with the pain and stiffness in my back/ neck and shoulder areas. I am so greatful to be able to attend these sessions as I was having a lot of problems trying to take some of the medication I have been given. I feel I have made more progress while using this service than I have in years. I am always met by freindly face and a listening ear, something that makes a big difference.

I am also attended a pain group which I found out about through the service, which lifted my spirits. I was feeling quite low, as I also have other health issues which cause me a degree of discomfort and pain. I was able to learn about other therapies available and spend time with other people with similar problems. I feel this is a great help also as often it is easy to feel low with ongoing health problems, it helps to chat to other people who understand what your going through.
