"Childbirth with emergency caesarean"

About: Queen's Hospital / Maternity care

I cannot recommend this hospital and its staff enough. From the moment I switched my care to this hospital to the very day I was released with my baby, having given birth, I received stellar treatment. The staff were incredibly polite, comforting, respectful and supportive. I could not have received better care and am so glad that I chose this hospital to deliver my baby. I would like to specially mention one of the labour ward staff, for her superb support and assistance throughout my time in the labour ward. Had it not been for her, I would have had an even more stressful and difficult delivery. Unfortunately, my time was married by a different member of staff in the labour ward. She did not care about my well-being during such a challenging experience - she was rude and curt, demonstrating no awareness of patient care. It seemed she was taking out her stress on me due to the fact that she had been given two patients instead of one.

Thank you for taking the time to make us aware of your experience. I am so pleased to hear that overall you were happy with the care provided to you during your labour. I am however disappointed to hear that a member of staff was rude to you, please accept my apologies for this, this is unacceptable. I will discuss your feedback with the team so that they are aware. If however you would like to discuss your concerns further, I would encourage you to contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service this will allow us to address any concerns you have. The PALS Service can be contacted on 01708 435 454 or by email bhrut.pals@nhs.net. Once again thank you for taking the time to make us aware of your experience.

Kind Regards
