"Breast cancer care"

About: United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust

(as the patient),

From going to my local GP to having surgery has been very quick. My treatment at Boston Pilgrim hospital has been second to non. Every member of staff has been kind, caring and compassionate.

The most difficult aspect was the fact that the wait for a bed on a ward caused great anxiety to the recovery care team. Their apologies for what was a long wait was very sad to experience. They, of course, had nothing to be sorry about. The care that was given to myself and the other patients was excellent. Our every need i. e. food and drinks, was catered for.

Staff should feel proud of what they do day in and day out. They should feel that pride when they go home after 12/14 hour shifts.

The media reports almost daily regarding problems within the NHS. It's not until one is personally  confronted with those realities that one can appreciate the true difficulties.

That being said, I did get a bed and my care on the ward was very good indeed.

I just wish that the staff of all hospitals got the accolades that they really deserve, more often.

Dear Honest

Thank you for taking the time to leave this lovely feedback, which I am pleased to have been able to share with the team at Pilgrim.

We always try and ensure our patients are treated with courtesy, kindness and respect, and it is very much appreciated by all the team members when a patient takes time to acknowledge their efforts.

We're sorry that you were delayed in getting a bed. We do work hard to try and ensure that all patients are allocated a bed as soon as possible. However there are certain circumstances beyond our control that cause delays to happen.

Thank you once again, and all best wishes for the future.

Regards

Sharon
