"cant precook appointment"

I wished to pre book an appointment with the nurse for the contraceptive injection which in order to be as effective as possible needs to be given on the exact date. For 3 weeks I called to book and every time was told the Nurses diary wasn’t showing that far in advance (5-3weeks) and to try the following week. Now I’ve just called to try again only to be told she is fully booked until 3weeks after the date I want!!!!!! How is this possible when her diary (as I was told ) wasn’t showing that far ahead. I’m totally outraged and I’ve been left to wait (again) for them to see what they can do. Ill I’ll be taking this further if no appointment is available.

I am very sorry to hear about the case and I fully apologise if you felt let down by the Practice. After checking the date of your post I noticed that at the time we were running the service with only one nurse and were actively trying to recruit another Practice Nurse. At the time of the incident we were waiting for confirmation of a nurse locum to cover shifts. Fortunately, the recruitment process has now finalised so we now, once again, have two nurses at the practice. I just would like to mention that our reception staff are well trained in helping patients find alternative arrangements in circumstances like this and we will always go the extra mile to satisfy patients. I am certain that by now the case would have been timely and acceptably resolved. If you would like to discuss this further please do not hesitate to contact the Practice Manager.
