"Memory Loss"

About: Borders General Hospital / Mental Health for Older Adults (Cauldshiels)

(as a service user),

I woke up with quite severe memory loss. I forgot to have my breakfast, didn't know what the date was etc.

In the early afternoon I ended up at the BGH, where the patient and caring Nurses and Doctors helped me. They carried out tests on me to check my awareness and strength.

My visit to the BGH turned out to be over a few days. I was lucky to leave the hospital in a much healthier state of mind and almost feeling myself again.

I just wanted to say a thank you to the wonderful team who cared for me. When in such a fragile and confused state, it is much appreciated to receive such kind support.

I hope that I do not see you all too soon again!

Best wishes

Dear Jonsey

Apologies for the delay in response and I am sorry that you are having difficulties with your memory. I am so pleased that you have taken the time to tell us about your experience when you were in hospital. I will pass on your kind comments to the ward team who work so hard to look after people who have difficulties with their memory. this feedback is very valued.

Kind regards

Jill Kirk SCN
