"Dental surgery at Heavitree Hospital"

About: Heavitree Hospital

(as a carer),

My teenage son went into heavitree Hospital at RD&E recently for a dental operation. They were great. He went in early afternoon and we took him home early evening. The anaesthetist, dental surgeon, nurses – they were all lovely. Everyone really wanted to listen to us and what we thought.

The only thing is that they did the pre-med instructions over the phone and it was a bit confusing about when we could pick him up and take him home. And whilst we were there I heard someone else who had the same instructions via the telephone premed and they’d made the same mistake so the instructions could do with being clearer.

I would like to thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback about your experience at the Heavitree Daycase Unit. We take feedback on our services very seriously and would like the opportunity to further investigate the issues you have raised relating to pre-med information as this is not what we understand to be the system. We would appreciate it if you would make contact with our Patient Services Department on 01392 402363 or 01392 403915 and provide us with your contact details so the matron of this Unit may look into this further.
