"Hydrotherapy - Arroll Park"

About: Arrol Park Resource Centre

(as the patient),

I have just completed a course of Hyrdotherapy at Arroll Park, Ayr.  I had a spinal decompression in December 2019 and  was referred for this course by my Physio at Ayr hospital. Initially I was sceptical about  the Hyrdotherapy but I can honestly  say transformed it has transformed my life.  The exercises enabled me to carry out exercises to improve my balance and strengthen my core that was proving very difficult with ordinary physiotherapy.  At the end of the course I had gone from having to use a wheelchair to go from the car park to the facility to walking by myself using one stick - what a result.  I was also able to walk inside my house without a stick for a couple of days after my session.

It also helped me mentally and gave me hope and belief that my condition could be improved. I went from from being quite depressed and hopeless about my prospects to being optimistic and convinced that I could manage and improved my future.
The care and  expertise of all the staff was of the highest standard and I will be forever grateful to them.  It is a pity that the pool is only available to the Hyrdotherapy team for one morning a week.as I am sure that more than one session a week would be beneficial.  I cannot thank all the staff enough for their care and attention - you are a great team.  Please keep up the good work - I am forever in your debt.

I respond initially to most of the posts and ensure they are passed to the appropriate team whether they are compliments, observations or grumbles. It is important to make sure all issues are addressed and I try to encourage that to happen for all the posts as required.

Dear yellowkh73,

It is humbling to read about your 'fight' to fitness. it certainly sounds as if this therapy and the team have made such a dramatic improvement to your health and wellbeing. I also think you must take some of the credit too, well done.

It will be a delight to pass this on to the team. Thank you for taking time to share this with us, While it is absolutely imperative that we hear about the 'glitches' and the things we don't get quite right, we should never underestimate how this kind of feedback helps staff to keep motivated to deliver such high quality care.

All the best for your onward recovery,

Eunice
