The waiting room could be a little bigger, but is comfortable with a TV. Waiting time was longer than expected, but they apologised for the delay which was caused by problems with the morning surgery, so that is understandable and no problem.
When my turn came, the surgeon came to talk to me about what would be happening and put any fears I had to rest, then the anaesthetist came to talk to me about whether I would like a general anaesthetic, which I was intended to have, or would I prefer to be given a local anaesthetic which she thought would be a better option for me, I chose the local anaesthetic, which turned out to be good.
After surgery I was taken to the recovery ward where I was well looked after, as were all the other patients in recovery. The surgeon and the anaesthetist both came to visit me in recovery to check that I was OK.
Under the circumstances, my stay was a good experience, and all the hospital staff that I met were kind, helpful and understanding, even to the point of walking with me to my car where my wife was waiting, and wishing us a good weekend.
