My family and I would like to express our heartfelt thanks to ALL of the doctors and nurses, who treated our brother after his heart attack. Unfortunately our brother also had Hypoxic Brain Injury, he didn't make it. But the nursing care and attention that he received was first class. The doctors, specialists and all of the nurses who nursed and looked after our brother with dignity and respect. As a family we were kept informed of his situation the entire time. We decided to donate some of our brothers organs. The end of life suite was just amazing, so peaceful and comfortable, again the staff were sensitive and understanding, explaining every step of the way what would happen. This was our first visit to Essex Cardiothoracic Centre and we were very impressed, with the state of the art technology.We are very blessed to have these resources available to us.

Firstly may we offer our condolences to you and your family on the loss of your brother.

We would like thank you for taking the time for your comments on this website and also for completing a patient engagement and experience comment card, particularly at such a sad time for you.

The Trust is always pleased when relatives take the time to write with their appreciation of the treatment their loved ones have received and was glad to read you were happy with the care and treatment given to your brother whilst he was an inpatient in the Cardiothoracic Centre at Basildon Hospital.

Our staff do a difficult job with skill, professionalism and sensitivity to ensure patients and their relatives receive the best experience possible.

Your comments have been shared with the senior team to ensure all staff involved in our brother’s care are made aware of your kind words.
