I was admitted to maple ward late on Monday 15th May, when I arrived I was greeted by the night staff and shown to my bed where I stayed for 9 days! I had major surgery on the Thursday morning which didn’t go quite to plan and I ended up being quite poorly. Now from start to finish of my stay I cannot fault but only praise the staff. Being a young girl I was very embarrassed due to the circumstances and the nurses and HCOs made me feel at ease and like I was normal. I was scared and worried what was going to happen to me and every step of the way there was always someone there whether it be to ask a question to or hold my hand when I cried. Due to being on the ward for so long I became apart of the furniture and I felt like apart of the family with staff going out of their ways to say hello and goodbye when their shifts started and ended. Now that’s what I call going above and beyond. All I can say is you are an extremely talented and caring team and thank you for saving my life and looking after me!
